South Mountain Creamery<\/strong><\/a> is excited to announce that it recently donated $6,635 to SHIP (Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership)<\/a><\/strong> of Frederick County. Funds were raised through a raffle that auctioned off items donated by local businesses, artists, and other community partners. The raffle was held during the Annual Spring Festival at the South Mountain Creamery farm in Middletown, MD. Customers could buy raffle tickets online, as well as the day of the event on April 29, 2023. Winners of the raffle items were notified after the event via email.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

SHIP of Frederick County is a non-profit public charity making a difference in the lives of homeless youth. Their mission is to \u201creduce barriers to academic attainment for youth experiencing homelessness by connecting them to community, resources, and youth-centric programming, while advocating for equality in the systems that serve young people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe rely upon the community (including human and community service organizations, businesses, educational institutions, government, and residents) to help us accomplish our task,\u201d the SHIP Frederick website states. \u201cQuite simply, we exist because there are students in our community that need our help. They live in every city, town, and district in Frederick
County . . . [and] the numbers continue to grow each school year.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to work with SHIP again this year and be able to present them with 100% of the Spring Festival Raffle proceeds,\u201d said Tony Brusco, Co-Owner, CEO, South Mountain Creamery. \u201cOur community came together to raise money for a worthwhile local charity which is awesome. While it is troubling that we have homeless students, we hope that these funds will make a positive impact on these students by opening up new opportunities and providing essential support during a critical time in their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
